Recent comments
Finally it is ready for use! I'm talking about recent comments. I have tried for ages with various hacks, but none ever quite worked for me. *sigh* But, now I have it, and I'm happy. Check it out!
If you would like to display comments in your blog, first you must have Blogger Beta. Then go to page elements/add a page element/feed. Put this in the first box:
http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/full
Make sure you replace yourblogname in the URL with your own, click continue. Then in the next window, you are able to select a few options. I named mine "Recent Chit-Chat", keep the comments to 5, and choose to have the comment author listed.
When it is done, move/drag it to the area on your sidebar you want to see it, and it is go to go!Waiting for that first comment to show up...waiting...waiting....

I haven't explored your blog much - only read the first post, but I thought the least I could do was give you a comment! Thanks for the instructions about how to get the recent comments.... I might have to try it.

I have had so much trouble with the feeds on beta. I can't make it work, it says the url is invalid.
:(
I've been having more luck with the "atom.xml" url but that only works for the entries.
I got it. I had to change the comment feeds to full, all of them. (I tried "short" at the end of the url and it didn't work.)
Then it still was saying invalid feed when I tried to use it in the feed widget. I had to run it through feedburner, and now it works. (Theoretically, since I have no comments.)
Alice, glad you were able to work it out. Sometimes this stuff can be so picky!
annie, I used this seeing from ramani's post. But its not updating whenever new comemnts come in. Can you figure out what is the problem??

@priya, I can't figure out a way other than to copy each post and repost in the main blog. Where did you find information in Blogger Help? I feel like I'm running in circles in there. Point me and let me read. I have tried a couple of things, but nothing worked like I wanted. I want to see what they say.

When you go to main blogger page help, check for blogger hacks link and you can go to that page.

@rohan, in order for this to work, you have to use Blogger Beta. You are still using original blogger.

I used the Blogger Beta Only... (which is now, the New Blogger)...
Also, I use FTP to publish my files...

@rohan, that is really strange. I viewed your template source and it looks like the old blogger. Did you choose 'Custom Design' and got this message?
"We've introduced a new tool for customizing the appearance of your blog. Before you can use this tool, you'll need to upgrade your template. By upgrading, you will lose many of the changes you previously made to your template. However, we will save a copy of your current template so that you can access it later. "
Because I have another blog that is under the new format, but I chose to use the old template, so I can't use this feature on it either.
