A Program to Create Your Own Tab Menu Graphics
Hi Annie!
Wanted to tell you I found a free download of a software to create tabbed menus, which generates the code too. It's really neat. I used it to make all the tabs.
My friend, hillgrandmom, from Life on a Hill, sent me a link to CSS Tab Designer. So, I took a look at her blog. It made lovely little tabs. After you make your new tabs to match your blog, you can add them using this tutorial: A Tab Menu for Your Very Own. How exciting is that?

The tab menu that was set up on http://newgranny.blogspot.com was transparent and so had the added advantage of not needing any image to be uploaded, nor any need to add code to the header part.
Thank you very much for the tips and links. It will help me a lot on my blog tabs experiments. :)

CSS tab designer! Finally something both easy to use and good at what it does. Thank you so much, this will save me a lot of time :)
CSS menus are so awesome - they're clean and easy to implement most of the time. I've used a flyout navigational menu built in CSS for a couple of websites and they're really nice, both functionally and aesthetically!

This is an excellent article. You've done a great job of explaining the concepts in an easy to understand way, without dumbing down the message (which is so rare). I've sent this along to several "newbies" I advise on blogging -- I know they'll appreciate it.
Thanks for the software tip for the tabs!
Bookmarked. :)
Thanks annie and thanks hillgrandmom for putting this out there!

The Yensdesign example is nice and light, and has smooth transitions:
4. Create a smooth tabbed menu in jQuery
However, be aware that it requires one to know the number and names of tabs in advance, and to rewrite the implementation if your tabs need to change.
I like the tabs, very nice!!
The software tip for the tabs, thanks.
