Translate your blog into 9 languages
I was always a bit sad that anyone that didn't read English couldn't benefit from my blog. Problem solved! I found how to translate a blog at Digital Inspiration!
To make it work with Blogger Beta, you must open "Template/Page Elements/Add a Page Element/HTML/JavaScript" Paste this into the window:
<form action="http://www.google.com/translate" >To find more information about the history of this code, read about it on Digital Inspiration.
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
document.write ("<input name=u value="+location.href+" type=hidden>")
// -->
</script>
<input name="hl" value="en" type="hidden">
<input name="ie" value="UTF8" type="hidden">
<input name="langpair" value="" type="hidden">
<input name="langpair" value="en|fr" title="French" src= "http://photos1.blogger.com/img/

I'm sure it will not translated perfectly, but I am hoping it will be close enough so all readers can understand enough to use all my tutorials.

This is incredible! I love to trick out my blog with geeky little widgets (and believe me, I'm not a "computer person"). This is one I'm going to try out today.
Thanks!
@Rebecca, I see you got it working! Great addition to a blog.
I LOVE it! I cannot stop translating myself (and my husband's blog. Linkback in place.
the translations are a total scream!
I've also implemented it but seems that we still have some bugs to work out. This is what I am getting for some of the icon-languages:
Sorry, this URL is invalid
http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&langpair=en%7Cfr&u=http://bloggeruniversity.blogspot.com/
Any ideas>
@Tonnet, Well, I'm not sure what to do. I tested most of the translations on my blog, and I didn't get that error message. Were you translating into Spanish? Check your code again. Maybe remove it and re-install.
If I come up with something, I will let you know.
Annie,
Thanks for your lead and simple instructions. I went to Digital Inspiration, then get the code to work as a 3rd party widget to install. I'm asking the author for his permission to have the installation button appears on my page for others to use.
Thanks again for writing up this tutorial.
Cheers,
Annie, thanks for posting about this hack. I wanted to have language translation for my whole blog and this one hardly took time.
@Hoctro and Vivek, glad you guys found it useful! Thanks for all of your hard work on the hacks on your blogs!
Awesome, it's now live at tesco-complaint.blogspot.com as well so thank you!
@tesco-complaint, it really is an awesome feature and easy to implement!
Annie,
I tired pasting and deleting few times coz when I click french, the nest page I error as-this page cannot be opened. I still hav ein my blog but donno why it doesn't work.
@priya, well, I don't know exactly why it won't work for you. I removed mine even though it worked well enough. Someone who spoke German said that it really translated badly. So I decided to remove it from my blog, but left the post up for others who still may be interested.
gr8 hack..
thnx...
And if th estarting language is italian, what change in the code? Thanks
@anonymous, I'm not really sure. Maybe try removing the following Italian script from the code:
<input name="langpair" value="en|it" title="Italian" src= "http://photos1.blogger.com/img/
43/1633/320/13539953_0384ccecf9.jpg" onclick="this.form.langpair.value=this.value" height="20" type="image" width="30">
I don't think that is only this trh thing to do. I've try it, but without success...:-(
Who can help me? Thanks
@anonymous, I used that exact code in my template and it worked. Perhaps you have a conflict with another code. I don't really know. I would re-read the post and follow the directions exactly and see if it doesn't work this time.
Listen to: If i understand extacly, in your code, the starting language is always english and the part of the code that you tell my to delete, form is only for to translate into italian (i think)...Is it correct? (excuse my english buti'm italian and i speak english a little)
@anonymous, sorry, but I can't figure out how to make Italian the default language. I didn't create the translation hack. Perhaps if you go to Add Language Translation Flags To Your Blog in One Easy Step; Reach Non-English Speaking Readers and ask Amit, he might have an answer.
Thank you so much. This is very wonderful, i almost can't believe it. Now i have a new tool...
This is superb Annie! I just added it to my blog. I actually read it first on digital inspiration but I couldn't figure out how to put it in my sidebar. Then I thought of checking if you'd posted anything on it and you had!
I have a better solution:-

Dear madame,
I want to translate my blog into telugu(Indian language). Kindly help....PLEASE
Hi! thanks for sharing, its very nice....
www.itemplatez.com
Can i convert to Regional languages
Does it fix structure of sentences and stuff like that? OR just word for word translating?
Well thanks for providing such code for auto translator. For some reason I don't prefer to use such auto translator. Human translation is much more good then auto translator.
Thank you so much. This is very wonderful, i almost can't believe it. Now i have a new tool.
Are there any new languages availabe? I'd love to use a Swedish translation!
